Real-Time Rendering

Architectural Loft (Work in progress)

I am currently developing a real-time architectural scene in Unreal. I came across a simple loft apartment that looked like a decent example and recreating in a real-time environment. The goal of this project is to be able to walk around the space and interact with the space. I am currently beyond the blocking out phase and working with materials/lighting. I am planning on setting this up so that you can change out materials, switch appliances/furniture and make it more custom. In addition to Unreal, I am utilizing Maya as well as Quixel Megascans for material application. Updates comes soon…

Haunted Mine scene (Work in progress)

This project is based upon my recent adventures while hiking in southern Utah. I spent a few weeks backpacking and exploring in the area. While hiking, I thought it would be interesting to stumble upon  an old mine while outdoors. The general premise is based upon a hiker who tumbles upon an old mine. He sets up his tent/sleeping bag and starts a fire to cook food before heading into the mine. For the scene, you will see movement inside the shaft with the traveler going down into the mine. As the scene continues, I will have a fire billowing with a bag and gear (the traveler’s belongings) set next to the fire. So the traveler thinks he is safe leaving everything behind and letting the fire billow since he won’t be gone for long. At the bottom of the camera, I will have a full section to represent a cavern for shadow. Initially, I will keep that area dark for the shot. Halfway through the animation, I am adding glowing/blinking eyes to give the idea that the traveler may not be alone and in danger. The blinking eyes will go until the end of the shot to hold tension. The node network in the photo above is apart of the blinking eyes. I am utilizing Unreal Engine 5, Quixel Megascans, Maya, Photoshop and Substance 3d for the animation

Patio Architectural Scene

This project was inspired by a photo a came across while scrolling through architectural websites. I loved the layout of the design and wanted to recreate it digitally. The duration of the project took about five days. It was my first time getting into Unreal and creating something with it Outside of work. I utilized Unreal Engine 4 and photoshop for this project. I also used Turbosquid and other 3d websites for the vegetation.
